Is this another Virtual Airline ?? To answer this question in the
simplest word...No. Matrix Transport Alliance is "more" than simply a
virtual airline. We specialize in virtual pilots who fly for "many"
virtual and simulated airlines throughout the world. There is no limit to
the number of airlines a V-pilot can fly, even in one week...You have the time,
we have the resources.
V-pilots also earn virtual money and even have a virtual bank account.
A given v-pilot can actually view the expenses across the board to include
aircraft maintenance, flight crew expenses, landing fees, insurance costs, fuel
expenses and even see if a flight lost money or made a profit. You never
know how many passengers you will have nor cargo weight, these are assigned when
your flight is placed in your Flight Book.
Future plans for M.T.A. will include the possibility for a v-pilot to
purchase his/her own aircraft, but watch out!! It better make money or you
had better stay employed to keep it maintained, pay fuel, insurance, and of
course you know the list goes on, this "is" aviation!!
M.T.A. will expand into two classes in the future Freelance (VF-Pilot) and
Commercial (VC-Pilot) pilots. Between these two classes either the pilot
may select any flight to be flown (VF-Pilot) or, the pilot is "assigned" the
next flight (VC-Pilot). In the commercial world, you fly out of the city
you are currently in, otherwise, you catch a jump seat to the next city!
Now just "how" do I catch a jump seat?, you may be asking. Simply submit a
request with another pilot at your location and "yes" they are listed.
These additions are off in the future as they require a strong number of
participants as well, there may be the possibility of AI pilots.
As you can see, this is "far" beyond the average virtual airline, we like to
look at it as a Virtual Industry. An industry full of pilots from all
parts of the world sharing in the goal of success.

Page updates now reflect proper. real-time flight data...
I have been working hard to port real-time flight data from the XACARS application through our databases and developing the flight data pages. Recent updates have a good working Active MFDS app block as well as the Active Flight Data window.
Currently I am working on the finishing touches of the Active Flight data adding in the actual status and message responses from the database converting these from numeric to word based status messages.
Stick around, more to come as time allows.

Well, it's been another month and there isn't a lot to tell in the way of MTA development. With the pregnancy of my wife we have been rather busy with details around the house and around her pregnancy.
The twins are doing well, both progressing at the same rate and they have set November 5th for the latest delivery date.
I just wanted to put some word out to you all because of my lack of activity on the scene as well as in Yahoo messenger.
GOD Bless!
Brian

I have changed a few working characteristics for the Active MFDS block. This block will list any pilot in an active flight up to the point where the flight has ended.
We still need to develop code that will detect a failed flight or a dropped flight which may be a rather large challenge however, I haven't seen any unstable actions from the application to date with the testing I have done.
One more test flight should prove out the blocks functionality.

The Active M.F.D.S. app block is now fully functional and may support an additional field or two in the future. This block will display any pilot that is active in the ACARS application, flight, or prior PIREP stage. During this testing phase however the data displayed will not be accurate due to the fact that not all site coding work is complete.
Stay tuned...Much more to come.

I have added two new fields to the ACARS database to link the pilot member to the ACARS posted flight. This will allow for removal of the proper flight to be removed is the pilots opts to remove the flight plan he/she has posted to their flight book.
The ACARS application pulls its flight plans from an independent database to the MTA databases. This injection was needed to accomplish both ACARS application and PIREP reporting.

I have developed the site code to port the ACARS flights into the database as flights are posted to the pilots Flight Book. All tests have passed with good success and are working as expected.
These entries are used by the ACARS application to pull your flight data for flight tracking. I still have yet to add a couple of fields and site code to remove the flight in the event the pilot removes the flight from the Flight Book within his/her Flight Room. This is planned for this weekend and should be a rather easy process to accomplish.
We are well on our way!

I have ported the pilot signup to the ACARS database and tested successfully with the ACARS application. This is a major step in outfitting the site for Live ACARS tracking, mapping, and automated PIREPS.
MTA's data structure is rather extensive and holds a great deal of data per flight and user thus the steps to integrating full automated PIREPS will take some time however, I think the most difficult part has been accomplished.
Come back often and keep informed as we finally move forward with this project. We look forward to having you here.

We have completed a number of successful tests this week tracking Live ACARS via the site and am happy to say, all is working real well. I am in the process now adjusting the code on the site to work with the MTA build.
We are not certain how long this will take however we will be working as fast as possible.
